Marine sponges have been considered as a valuable source of bioactive molecules with different pharmacological activities. Several sponge compounds are in clinical trials for various diseases. Marine sponge compounds interactions (DESMSCI) exploration system provides information about the associations of the sponge compounds with the different biological entities like human genes, proteins, diseases and pathways based on the scientific literature available in the PubMed and information deposited in the other databases. The system allows various types of visualization of relationships from textual and tabular views, to graphs and relational networks. Through in built feature of hypotheses generation, the researcher can generate novel, previously unknown associations between different biomedical entities.
